The activity takes place on the Verdon river

Activity only possible on days when the dam upstream of the river is open:

July / August: Tuesday – Friday

Rest of the year: Information communicated by EDF the day before for the following day.

Requirements :

This course is accessible to people who have already practiced canoeing on the Verdon with us.

Be in good physical condition and not suffer from any medical contraindication to the practice of sport.

Know how to swim and be comfortable in the water

Equipment needed:

A good pair of sneakers – Mandatory
A swimsuit, Shorts
A towel
A bag for dry items
A bottle of water

A cord for glasses (1 € on site) or lenses

Canoe Kayak activity presentation :

The course in canoe-kayak sensation in the Verdon is done with an open dam , it requires being in good physical condition and in good health . This sensational canoe-kayak route lasts 2 hours for about 12 km. In addition, it is accessible from 14 years old provided you have some experience.

The “ Pont de Soleil ” is an interesting canoe route in the Gorges . Indeed, the part before the Grand Canyon allows you to practice an exciting activity. Both by its technicality and by the beauty of the landscape. However, it is intended for a seasoned public who has already practiced this discipline in white water. Accompanied by your guide, you will discover Gorges du Verdon from the most beautiful angle!

It is a course with fairly technical passages that will give you great sensations . But also beautiful moments of break to be able to admire the wonders of nature . Your guide will accompany you throughout the descent. He will give you valuable advice to improve your technique and anticipate the most difficult passages. Thus, you will be able to live an extraordinary experience. Don’t hesitate !

At Haute Provence Outdoor this route starts in Castellane and ends in Pont de Soleil a few kilometers after our base.

For your groups of seminars or your EVG / EVJF , consider contacting us to organize one or more activities over a whole day.

We could prepare a day for you rich in emotion with for example a morning in Canoe or rafting and an afternoon achery-tag to relax and have a fun time with your group .

Prepare your Canoe Kayak trip in the Gorges du Verdon

You must arrive, on the day of your activity, 10 minutes before the time indicated in your confirmation email, at our base located just next to the Huttopia campsite, 15 minutes from Castellane. You can enjoy cloakrooms to change and leave your clothes and towel, you will however leave your valuables in your vehicle or at your location. After receiving your equipment (vest, jumpsuit, helmet), and after a briefing by your guide on safety instructions , you will reach the starting point by mini-bus to begin your descent.

Presentation of the canoe-kayak sensation activity in the Verdon

On your canoe Kayak , you will discover the magnificent Gorges du Verdon. You will alternate intense moments with beautiful observation breaks. Your guide will adapt the descent to your level, give you advice to improve your technique. He will supervise you all along the route and ensure your safety.

Arrival

This activity will offer you 2 hours of descent, you will leave from Castellane and arrive at “Pont de soleil” (a few km below our base), it is a technical course and full of beautiful views of the surrounding mountains . Once at the end, we will then take you back to the campsite by mini-bus where you can collect your belongings, before resuming your day!
