The activity takes place on the Verdon river
Activity only possible on days when the dam upstream of the river is open:
July / August: Tuesday – Friday
Rest of the year: Information communicated by EDF the day before for the following day.
Requirements :
This course is accessible to a public already comfortable with white water navigation
Be in good physical condition and not suffer from any medical contraindication to the practice of sport.
Know how to swim and be comfortable in the water
Equipment needed:
A good pair of sneakers – Mandatory
A swimsuit, Shorts
A towel
A bag for dry items
A bottle of water
A cord for glasses (2€ on site) or contact lenses

Canoe Kayak activity presentation :
Discovery trail accessible to all, ideal for families and friends! Or to introduce you to the practice of canoeing.
On board an airboat (single-seater or two-seater), called a canoe-kayak and accompanied by your guide, you will discover the Gorges du Verdon in the best possible way. Indeed, come and explore the Verdon and from the most beautiful angle with Haute Provence Outdoor !
Come with family or friends to try your hand at the joys of white water . With a course of 8 km or 2h30 of activity for about 1h30 on the water.
The canoe-kayak discovery in the Verdon depends on the opening of the EDF dam upstream of Castellane . In July and August, outings are only possible on Tuesdays and Fridays .
For the months of May, June and September , we only know 24 hours in advance if the dam will be open or not. If it is closed on the reserved day, we suggest that you postpone the activity or go on an aqua trekking instead.
It is with the force of the arms that it will be necessary to move the boat. Fortunately for the less athletic, the current helps maneuver and will carry you throughout the discovery.

Prepare your Canoe Kayak explor verdon trip in the Gorges du Verdon
We invite you to meet us at our base located just next to the Huttopia “Gorges du Verdon” campsite . Remember to arrive 10 minutes before the time indicated in your confirmation email. There you will meet your instructor (guide). We have changing rooms at your disposal to change and leave your belongings. We recommend that you leave your valuables in your vehicle or at your location. Then, your guide will hand you your equipment. Once equipped, you will take a seat in our mini-bus to get to the start of the route ( Castellane ). On site, a briefing on the progress of the activity and safety instructions will be provided.
Presentation of the canoe-kayak explor verdon activity of the Verdon
You will discover by canoe-kayak, the Gorges du Verdon in the most beautiful way ! Quieter passages will allow you to enjoy the breathtaking panorama. While sections with rapids will make the descent more sporty and fun. Your instructor is there for your safety. He will also give you instructions throughout the descent and will know how to adapt the route so that you can make the most of it.
Arrival
After about 2 hours of descent, the arrival takes place directly at the campsite . Finally, return to our equipment area to collect your belongings, before resuming the course of your day!
