Canoë-kayak Verdon – «Discovery» – Family Course

Canoe Kayak activity presentation :

Course accessible to all , ideal to do with family, friends or to introduce you to the practice of canoeing!

On board an airboat (single-seater or two-seater), called canoe and accompanied by your guide, you will discover the Verdon’s Gorges in the best way and under the most beautiful angle with Haute Provence Outdoor !

Come with family or friends to try your hand at the joys of white water with this 8 km course or 2h30 of activity for around 1h30 on the water.

Canoeing in the Verdon depends on the opening of the EDF dam upstream from Castellane. In July and August, outings are only possible on Tuesdays and Fridays .

For the months of May, June and September , we only know 24 hours in advance if the dam will be open or not. If it is closed on the reserved day, we suggest that you postpone the activity or go on an aqua trekking instead.

The strength of your arms will move the boat, fortunately for the less athletic, the stream helps the maneuver and will carry you throughout the discovery.

This course is accessible to a public already at ease with navigation in white water. Families and children from 12 yearsold are welcome for this fun descent through a breathtaking green landscape.

Prepare your Canoe Kayak trip in the Gorges du Verdon

We will meet you at our base located just next to the Huttopia “Gorges du Verdon” campsite 10 minutes before the time indicated in your confirmation email. There you will meet your instructor (guide). We have changing rooms at your disposal to change and leave your belongings, we recommend that you leave your valuables in your vehicle or at your location. Your guide will give you your equipment, once equipped, you will take a seat in our mini-bus to get to the start of the route (Castellane). On site, a briefing on the progress of the activity and safety instructions will be provided.

Presentation of the activity

You will discover by canoe-kayak, the Gorges du Verdon in the most beautiful way : quieter passages will allow you to enjoy the breathtaking panorama while sections with rapids will make the descent more sporty and fun. Your instructor is there for your safety, giving you instructions throughout the descent and adapting the route so that you get the most out of it. On the program,laughter and spectacular landscapes await you !

Arrival

After about 2 hours of descent, the arrival takes place directly at the campsite . Return to our equipment area to collect your belongings, before resuming the course of your day!
