The activity takes place on the Verdon river

Activity only possible on days when the dam upstream of the river is open:

July / August: Tuesday – Friday

Rest of the year: Information communicated by EDF the day before for the following day.

Requirements :

This course is accessible to people who have already practiced canoeing on the Verdon with us.

Be in good physical condition and not suffer from any medical contraindication to the practice of sport.

Know how to swim and be comfortable in the water

Equipment needed:

A good pair of sneakers – Mandatory
A swimsuit, Shorts
A towel
A bag for dry items
A bottle of water
A cord for glasses (2€ on site) or contact lenses

Canoe Kayak activity presentation :

Complete canoe-kayak course in the Verdon, aimed at an audience in good physical condition and in good health.

Throw yourself into the water , with Haute Provence Outdoor , on this beautiful 15 km sporty descent , or around 4 hours of supervised activity.

With this more technical canoe course, you will discover the most beautiful navigable part of the Verdon, between Castellane and the town of Rougon at the entrance of the Grand Canyon.

A succession of beautiful tumults and breathtaking landscapes will make this course a unique and unforgettable moment !

The “Pont de Taloire” course is surely the most complete of the Gorges du Verdon.

The finish is at the beginning of the famous Couloir Samson the start of the Great Canyon, below the Point Sublime.

This course is reserved for the most seasoned ( rafting or canoeing experience strongly desired). The rapids are more powerful with class III+ passages !!

At the end of the course, a last effort is necessary to carry the boat with the guide, in order to join the bus.

Prepare your Canoe Kayaktrip in the Gorges du Verdon

We invite you to meet us at our base located just next to the Huttopia “Gorges du Verdon” campsite . Come 10 minutes before the time indicated in your confirmation email. There you will meet your instructor (guide). We have changing rooms at your disposal to change and leave your belongings. Nevertheless, we recommend that you leave your valuables in your vehicle or at your location. Your guide will give you your equipment, once equipped, you will take a seat in our mini-bus to get to the start of the route (Taloire). On site, we will provide you with a briefing on the course of the activity and the safety instructions.

Presentation of the canoe-kayak activity complete course Verdon

You will discover by canoe, the most emblematic part of the Gorges du Verdon , in the most beautiful way. By navigating through quieter passages that will allow you to enjoy the breathtaking panorama. While sections with rapids will make the descent more sporty and fun. Your instructor is there for your safety. He will give you instructions throughout the descent and will adapt the route so that you can make the most of it. On the program, giggles and spectacular landscapes await you! Don’t hesitate !

Arrival

After about 2 hours of descent, you will arrive at the entrance to the famous Samson corridor, just below Point Sublime. The Grand Canyon stands in front of you: enjoy the grandiose panorama ! Before returning, you will need to carry your canoe to the mini-bus. You will again be rewarded with a breathtaking view. Then, we will bring you back to the campsite where you can collect your belongings, before resuming the course of your day!
