The activity takes place in the Grand Canyon du Verdon.

Activity only possible on days when the dam upstream of the river is closed:

July / August: Monday – Wednesday – Thursday – Saturday – Sunday.

Rest of the year: Information communicated by EDF the day before for the following day.

Requirements :

Be in good physical condition and not suffer from any medical contraindication to the practice of sport.

Not be dizzy – Mandatory.

Know how to swim and be comfortable in the water.

Equipment needed:

A good pair of sneakers – Mandatory
A swimsuit, Shorts
A towel
A bag for dry items
A bottle of water

A cord for glasses (2€ on site) or contact lenses

We provide:

[FERMÉ] – For safety and liability reasons, the Imbut aquatic hiking trail has been closed since 2022.
The RIOLAN and AIGLUN day canyon trails are a very nice alternative.

Aquatic Trekking activity presentation

The Rando Aqua is the flagship activity of the Verdon . Only possibility to visit the Great Gorges or the Grand Canyon , it has become the essential activity of the region .

You will have to wait until the dam is closed on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays in July and August to come and visit the preserved and protected area of the Grand Canyon du Verdon.

This exceptional hike lasts from 4 to 6 hours according to the evolution of your group.

It is ideal whether you are alone, in a group or with friends, you will spend a sporting moment of conviviality .

Expect to be amazed throughout the walk. You will be totally enchanted by this mineral and aquatic universe offered by the largest Grand Canyon in Europe … so don’t wait any longer to book!

Course of the activity

We will provide you with neoprene suits, floating vests and all the necessary equipment to equip you.

Always under the benevolence of your guide who will accompany you, you will receive some information and instructions concerning the attitude to adopt but also on the importance of respecting the correct path so as not to deteriorate and to learn more about the fragile ecosystem of the Verdon!

The Imbut Aquatic Hike is one of the most beautiful in the Gorges du Verdon , but also the most technical.

It remains essential to discover the heart of the Grand Canyon du Verdon and its emblematic places (passage du “Styx” and of “ The Imbut “ , exit Vidal).

Next to Castellane , get on board, with Haute Provence Outdoor , for a unique day which you will remember for a long time!

This Rando Aqua is aimed at a sporting public, enduring and not subject to vertigo. A course of about 6 to 8 kilometers awaits you with nearly 340 meters of vertical drop and 400 meters uphill.

Unlike the canyoning , this excursion to the heart of the Verdon river is practiced without a rope and all obstacles can be avoided.

Presentation of the activity

During your descent, you will evolve in the enchanting scenery of the Grand Canyon and will therefore take turns swimming in the middle of the characteristic turquoise water of the Verdon, rapids or even jumps. Some technical passages await you but nothing insurmountable! Go on an adventure now!
