Aquatic Trekking activity presentation

The Rando Aqua is the flagship activity of the Verdon . The only possibility of visiting the Great Gorges or the Grand Canyon by swimming, it is the essential activity of the region.

You will have to wait until the dam is closed on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays in July and August to come and visit the preserved and protected area of the Grand Canyon du Verdon.

You will have to walk for a quarter of an hour to get to the start, which will gently wake up the muscles.

The course is then a succession of swims in large pools of water, passages of small rapids and is punctuated by a few jumps for the intrepid, the rapids to be crossed are of low and progressive difficulty. This is why this course proposed by Haute Provence Outdoor , is accessible from 8 years old and ideal to do with the family!

This hike allows you to discover an original activity and to appreciate the Verdon from another angle. Take the plunge!

The “Pont de Tusset” aquatic hiking route is particularly well suited to the youngest and to people who wish to familiarize themselves with the activity while quietly discovering the Gorges du Verdon.

Near Castellane, this Aqua Rando starts at the “Pont de Tusset” and ends at the entrance to the Grand Canyon du Verdon offering a marvelous panorama of the “Point Sublime.

Prepare your Aqua trekking excursionin the Gorges du Verdon

We will meet you at our base located just next to the Huttopia “Gorges du Verdon” campsite at the time indicated in your confirmation email. Once there, you will meet your instructor (guide). We have locker rooms to change and leave your belongings, but do not take your valuables. Your guide will give you your equipment, then you will take our mini-bus to reach the starting point of your activity. A walk of about 20 minutes will take us to the beginning of the route. Before you jump into the water, we will provide you with a briefing on the activity and safety instructions.

Presentation of the activity

Unlike canyoning,Aqua trekking is not a vertical activity, it does not require a rope and all obstacles can be avoided. During your descent, you will take turns swimming in large pools of turquoise water, passages of small rapids for the fun side and a few jumps for the more daring. The final will be in style, at the entrance to the Grand Canyon, the famous Samson corridor!

Arrival

Once the descent is over, it will take you about 10 minutes to get back up and find the mini-bus. Enjoy the view once you get to the top! You will then be taken back to the campsite where you can pick up your belongings, before resuming the course of your day! Do not hesitate to book your activity!
