Aquatic Trekking activity presentation
Aquatic hiking is the flagship activity of the Verdon . Only possibility to visit the Great Gorges or the Grand Canyon , it has become the essential activity of the region .
You will have to wait until the dam is closed on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays in July and August to come and visit the preserved and protected area of the Grand Canyon du Verdon.
The “Samson corridor“ , front door of Grand Canyon du Verdon is the most vertiginous part of the Gorges.
Equipped with 5mm neoprene wetsuits, floating vests and all the equipment necessary for the good performance of your activity, you will be able to take full advantage of the ride.
Always under the benevolence of your guide who will accompany you, you will receive some information and instructions concerning the attitude to adopt but also on the importance of respecting the correct path so as not to deteriorate and to learn more about the fragile ecosystem of the Verdon!
Having become the reference in terms of Rando Aqua in Castellane , this route will sublimate your senses .
Without being from canyoning , because more accessible, technical passages await you!
True natural sanctuaries , almost inaccessible to navigation ( rafting , canoeing ), come and discover places out of time and contemplate the immense limestone cliffs rising majestically several hundred meters above you.
An unforgettable 2-hour trip to do whether you are alone, with family or friends, in the heart of the Verdon Regional Natural Park (PNRV).
Children will also enjoy it from 12 years old with Haute Provence Outdoor .
We offer an additional alternative suitable for all members of the family from 8 years old, the Pont de Tusset course! Nestled in the heart of the Grandes Gorges du Verdon, you will have the opportunity to experience jumps in complete safety.
Prepare your Aqua trekking excursioninthe Gorges du Verdon
We will meet you at our base located just next to the Huttopia “Gorges du Verdon” campsite at the time indicated in your confirmation email. Once there, you will meet your instructor (guide). We have changing rooms at your disposal, to change and leave your belongings. However, we advise you to leave your valuables in your vehicle. Your guide will give you your equipment and then you will take our mini-bus to reach the starting point of your activity. A walk of about 10 minutes on the stairs will take us to the start of the route. A briefing on the course of the activity and the safety instructions will be provided to you.
Presentation of the activity
Unlike canyoning, Aqua trekking is not a vertical activity . It does not require a rope and all obstacles can be circumvented . During your descent, you will evolve in the enchanting scenery of the Grand Canyon and will therefore take turns swimming in the middle of the characteristic turquoise water of the Verdon, rapids or even jumps. Some technical passages await you but nothing insurmountable! So don’t hesitate to book !
Arrival
Once the descent is over, it will take about 20 minutes to walk along the Blanc Martel path to reach the mini-bus. The return is via tunnels. You will then be taken back to the campsite where you can collect your belongings, before resuming your day!
