The activity takes place in the Grand Canyon du Verdon
Activity only possible on days when the dam upstream of the river is closed:
July / August: Monday – Wednesday – Thursday – Saturday – Sunday
Rest of the year: Information communicated by EDF the day before for the following day.
Requirements :
Be in good physical condition and not suffer from any medical contraindication to the practice of sport.
Know how to swim and be comfortable in the water
Equipment needed:
A good pair of sneakers – Mandatory
A swimsuit, Shorts
A towel
A bag for dry items
A cord for glasses (1 € on site) or lenses

First, you will be provided with the necessary equipment and materials for this renowned water hike , ensuring the best experience.
Our guide will inform you of the good behavior to keep in order to preserve this natural sanctuary .
It is essential to know the right gestures so as not to damage the particular and fragile ecosystem of the Verdon !
Indeed, almost inaccessible by rafting or canoeing , the Couloir Samson offers you an incredible spectacle that you are not ready to forget!
The most vertiginous part of the Gorges, the Couloir Samson is the gateway to the Grand Canyon du Verdon.
Much more accessible than a classic canyoning course in the Verdon , the Couloir Samson will still surprise you with some technical passages.
Le Couloir Samson: fun with family or friends
A reference aquatic hiking trail in Castellane , the Couloir Samson is ideal for an ultra fun initiation .
The huge limestone cliffs rising several hundred meters above you offer an unforgettable 2-hour trip .
The course is open from the age of 12 so the youngest can also enjoy this spectacular show.
Practicable from May to September, the opening of this route is subject to the closure of the EDF dam located upstream of Castellane .
It is for this reason that in high season outings are possible on Mondays , Wednesdays , Thursdays , Saturdays and Sundays .
On the other hand, we are only informed 24 hours in advance of the opening or not of the dam for the months of May, June and September .
