1 – What is rafting in the Verdon?
Rafting is a river descent aboard a raft and accompanied by a guide. The raft is a 9-seater boat including 1 for your guide. The descent of the Verdon by raft allows you to visit the Gorges in groups of eight. You will have the chance to visit the Great Gorges or the Grand Canyon through rapids or quieter passages that will allow you to admire the landscape.
2 – Is rafting in the Verdon accessible to children?
Indeed, rafting is an activity accessible for children from 6 years old on the discovery course and from 12 years old for the Point Sublime course.
3 – How long does rafting in the Verdon last?
On average it takes 3 hours of activity including 1h30 of descent of the Verdon and 1h30 of preparation. Indeed, you will put on your wetsuits, listen to your guide’s briefing and take the road to get to the start and finish of your activity.
4 – When can I go rafting in the Verdon?
The rafting activity is specific. Indeed, it depends on the dam openings. Especially in July and August, the dates are precise, the rafting outings take place on Tuesday and/or Friday. On the other hand, in low season, it is different. Dam openings may be more frequent. Because of this, you can practice rafting more often. However, let us remember one thing. Rafting is mainly influenced by two elements: the weather and EDF.

Good to know
Rafting in the Verdon depends on the opening of the EDF dam upstream of Castellane and the water level in the lakes of the Verdon upstream .
In July and August , exits are only possible on tuesday and fridays .
For the months of May , June and September , we only know 24 hours in advance if the dam is open.
If the dam is closed on the day of your reservation, you will have the option of postponing the activity , or going on a water hike .
