Aqua trekking – L’Imbut – The heart of the Grand Canyon

The Rando Aqua is the flagship activity of the Verdon , the only possibility of visiting the Grandes Gorges or the Grand Canyon by swimming, it has become the essential activity of the region .

You will have to wait until the dam is closed on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays in July and August to come and visit the preserved and protected area of the Grand Canyon du Verdon.

This exceptional hike lasts from 4 to 6 hours according to the evolution of your group.

It is ideal for you to be alone, in a group or with friends, you will have a sporting moment of conviviality under the watchful eye of an experienced guide.

Expect to be amazed throughout the walk because you will be totally bewitched by this mineral and aquatic universe offered by the largest Grand Canyon in Europe …

Equipped with 5mm neoprene wetsuits, floating vests and all the equipment necessary for the good performance of your activity, you will be able to take full advantage of the ride.

Always under the benevolence of your guide who will accompany you, you will receive some information and instructions concerning the attitude to adopt but also on the importance of respecting the correct path so as not to deteriorate and to learn more about the fragile ecosystem of the Verdon!

The Imbut Aquatic Hike is one of the most beautiful of the Gorges du Verdon , but perhaps also the most technical and the most difficult.

It remains essential to discover the heart of the Grand Canyon du Verdon and its emblematic places (passage du “Styx” and of “ The Imbut “ , exit Vidal).

This Rando Aqua is aimed at a sporting public, enduring and not subject to vertigo. A course of about 6 to 8 kilometers awaits you with nearly 340 meters of vertical drop and 400 meters uphill.

Unlike the canyoning , this excursion to the heart of the Verdon river is practiced without a rope and all obstacles can be avoided.

Unlike canyoning,Aqua trekking is not a vertical activity, it does not require a rope and all obstacles can be avoided. During your descent, you will evolve in the enchanting scenery of the Grand Canyon and will therefore take turns swimming in the middle of the characteristic turquoise water of the Verdon, rapids or even jumps. Some technical passages await you but nothing insurmountable!
